Mann Packing Co., based in Salinas, Calif., has added two items to its line of fresh, washed, ready-to-eat vegetables: Brussels sprouts and a new blend for Rainbow Salad. The Brussels sprouts are trimmed, washed and packaged in a microwave-steamable 12-ounce bag, while the reformulated 12-ounce Rainbow Salad augments its mix of shredded carrots, cabbage and cauliflower with mini broccoli florettes for extra crunch and texture, as well as a further nutritional boost. In consumer testing, 90 percent of those who sampled the new blend said they preferred it to the previous product. Brussels sprouts, meanwhile, are enjoying a resurgence of popularity, having been served at the recent White House state dinner for the prime minister of Great Britain. SRP ranges for the products are $1.99 to $2.99 for the Rainbow Salad and $2.99 to $3.99 for the Brussels sprouts.
