Mann’s Tabs ‘Steamy’ On-Pack Offer
In a bid to steam things up in the fresh produce aisle this fall and keep shoppers away from the frozen foods cases, Mann Packing Co. is offering its annual on-pack offer for the Mann’s steam-in-bag vegetable line. As of Oct. 5, shoppers will save 55 cents when they buy two packages of Mann’s Broccoli & Carrots, Broccoli & Cauliflower or Vegetable Medley.
Last year, a similar offer had a high rate of redemption at 12 percent, said Lorri Koster, VP of marketing at the Salinas, Calif.-based company. “It’s fall, [and] families are back on a regular schedule and eating more at home. The economy [continues] to be a challenge, so some shopper segments are buying down and moving to bulk or frozen … items. We’re happy to continue to provide an enhanced value that will keep consumers shopping in produce and out of the frozen food aisle.”
The yearly promotion is an opportunity for retailers to create secondary displays of fresh-cut product adjacent to bulk displays and build fall meal-themed ads, noted Koster, adding that more than 150,000 on-pack offers will be applied.
