Market of Choice Recognized for Enhanced Web Site

Market of Choice has garnered two awards for its recent Web site redesign, which included enhancements such as Web-only specials, unique recipes, food-and-beverage-focused blogs, and interactive forums.

The Eugene, Ore.-based grocer won the American Business Awards Stevie Award for Best Food and Beverage Web site. Finalists in the category included Hormel Foods Corp., ZICO Pure Coconut Water, and SeafoodSource. More than 2,600 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration.

The site also earned an APEX, Grand Award. This international competition recognizes outstanding publications from newsletters and magazines to annual reports, brochures and Web sites. Announced in June, the Grand Award is APEX’s top honor, and Market of Choice took the honors for its Web site content and navigation. More than 3,785 entries were received and 100 Grand Awards were given.

Launched in November 2008, the Web site is a partnership between Market of Choice’s advertising department and CAWOOD, a Eugene-based public relations and marketing agency.

“Customer response tells us our new Web site gives them what they want, which is an easy-to-use, enticing reference and source of ideas for family meals and entertaining,” said Lyn Ryse, advertising manager at Eugene-based Market of Choice.

Market of Choice operates seven stores in the Oregon cities of Eugene, Portland, West Linn and Ashland.
