Meijer Offering CardioChek Meter, Cholesterol Test Strips In All Pharmacies
GRAND RAPIDS - Meijer Inc. here added two new diagnostic devices to its in-store pharmacies in a bid to make it easier for customers to manage their health.
Meijer installed the Polymer Technology Systems, Inc.'s CardioChek analyzer and Cholesterol Test Strips to the pharmacies in 176 stores throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky.
Meijer will also carry the analyzer and accompanying PTS Panels Total Cholesterol, HDL Cholesterol, and Triglycerides Test Strips, which enables consumers to monitor their levels at home.
The CardioChek system is a hand-held analyzer used with PTS Panels Test Strips. The system monitors key health indicators related to heart disease, diabetes, and other chronic conditions. Test results are displayed within two minutes. It can be programmed to display in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese.
Meijer, which operates 176 supercenters featuring over 40 departments in five states, was named Progressive Grocer's 2006 Retailer of the Year.
