New No Frills Fresh Store Planned for Nebraska

No Frills Supermarkets plans to open a 60,000-square-foot No Frills Fresh store in western Douglas County, Neb., in the spring of 2010 to provide the growing region with a low-cost, high-quality supermarket.

“With the new Elkhorn High School directly south and approved plans for a middle school across the street, this is a great opportunity to fulfill the needs of this growing area,” said No Frills president and CEO Fred Witecy. “We’re a local, family-oriented company, and many of us are a part of this community.”

The new store offer an expanded selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, custom cuts of beef and pork, fresh seafood, an in-store bakery, a deli and a variety of conveniences, including organic foods, a floral shop and a drive-through pharmacy. The local ownership team expects to employ more than 100 associates, many of them from Elkhorn, Neb., and nearby communities.

Omaha, Neb.-based No Frills operates 16 supermarkets in Nebraska and Iowa.
