Organic to Go Opens Three L.A. Stores; Three More Set for Orange County
ISSAQUAH, Wash. -- Organic to Go (OTG) an all-natural fast casual organic cafe, catering retailer, and delivery grocery company based here, said yesterday that in addition to the three retail stores it recently launched in Los Angeles, it plans to open three locations in Orange County in early autumn. OTG offers consumers prepared sandwiches, salads, soups, and entrees.
"The company [also] has an entire snack wall filled with organic and natural chips, pretzels, nuts, and fruit and nut bars, as well as other delicious items," company spokeswoman Carin Galletta told Progressive Grocer. "Desserts include cookies, chocolate cake, banana bread, carrot cake, and bread pudding, as well as homemade muffins and scones, brownies, and other sweets.
"At this time, OTG has organic milk, apples, bananas, and yogurt," continued Galletta. "Organic beverages include Santa Cruz soda, Heavenly Iced Tea, Odwalla juices, Numi teas, and others. In addition, OTG in each market sells a bottled water that benefits a charity."
OTG founder and c.e.o. Jason Brown said, "Since opening a few weeks ago, all three of our [Los Angeles] stores have greatly surpassed our expectations. It's an exciting time for our company and the organic industry as a whole. We're providing a healthier alternative to conventionally grown and processed fast food at fair value prices."
The Orange County locations will be one store in Costa Mesa and two in Irvine, Calif., according to the company.
As to future locations, Galletta told PG, "OTG is currently reviewing many locations outside of Washington and Los Angeles, but for 2006 will concentrate its efforts on building these two markets."
Over the next three years, OTG intends to open 48 retail stores across the United States, mainly on the West Coast, and then expand east to the Central United States.
