Pathmark Bows 150 Wild Oats Brand Products
CARTERET, N.J. and BOULDER, Colo. -- Pathmark Stores, Inc. and Wild Oats Markets, Inc. said yesterday that about 150 Wild Oats branded all-natural and organic food products are now on the shelves at all 141 Pathmark locations.
Among the Wild Oats products at Pathmark are imported Italian sodas, white balsamic vinegar, organic fruit spreads, and flatbread crackers.
"By introducing Wild Oats brand products to Pathmark stores, we are able to meet a growing demand for healthier food alternatives and reach out to consumers in communities where there is a recognition and demand for our products, and where we don't have a market presence," said Wild Oats chairman and c.e.o. Greg Mays in a statement. The two retail partners initially unveiled the project last November.
"Partnering with Wild Oats was a great fit for us," added Ken Martindale, Pathmark's co-president and chief marketing and merchandising officer.
Other retailers that carry Wild Oats products are Schenectady, N.Y.-based Price Chopper, and Ahold-owned Stop & Shop, based in Quincy, Mass.
Wild Oats operates 110 natural foods stores in 24 states and the Canadian province of British Columbia. The company's banners include Wild Oats Marketplace, Henry's Farmers Markets, Sun Harvest, and Capers Community Markets.
Pathmark operates 141 supermarkets in the New York-New Jersey and Philadelphia metropolitan areas.
