PCC Natural Markets to Organically Grow its WAN Performance
Natural and organic foods retailer PCC Natural Markets said it plans to install a network solution to accelerate application performance for all of its retail locations.
The retailer said it is working with Silver Peak Systems to install the system, which it expects to improve the performance of key business applications like file sharing, Intranet, and client applications, and make employees more productive.
Silver Peak developed the solution to support large networks on high capacity WAN links and across many distributed enterprise locations, such as those in the PCC store porfolio. The system uses Network Memory to reduce WAN traffic by eliminating the transfer of duplicate data. Network Memory works on all enterprise applications, regardless of transport protocol (TCP, UDP or proprietary) or latency requirements, according to the vendor.
Seattle-based PCC Natural Markets is a certified organic retail cooperative with annual sales of $115 million and an active membership of nearly 40,000 households. It operates eight stores in the Seward Park, View Ridge, Greenlake, West Seattle, Fremont, Kirkland, Redmond, and Issaquah neighborhoods. A ninth store will open in Edmonds this summer.
