Penn Traffic Re-ups with DemandTec Price, Adds New Services
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Penn Traffic Company here said yesterday it has renewed its license for DemandTec Price and is adding the San Carlos, Calif.-based company's Promotion and TradePoint software packages. DemandTec is a provider of consumer-centric merchandising, sales, and marketing software for retailers and CPG companies.
Penn Traffic said it expects to employ the software, scheduled to be fully implemented next year, in strategies to generate sales and increase operating income, which include enhanced merchandising programs, improved store operations, and reduced/contained costs.
"Our results from DemandTec Price in the implemented categories were very positive. Based on these results, we plan a full-scale rollout of DemandTec Price across additional store product categories," said Greg Young, Penn Traffic's newly named e.v.p. and c.o.o. "Furthermore, with the addition of DemandTec Promotion and DemandTec TradePoint, we expect to develop new, successful, and highly strategic promotional strategies that will satisfy our customers and enhance our competitive position."
Penn Traffic added DemandTec TradePoint and DemandTec Promotion to more efficiently manage promotions with its vendor partners and boost the effectiveness of every promotion executed.
