Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council Names New President
The board of directors of the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC) has named Pamela Stegeman president, a newly created position.
Stegeman, formerly a v.p. of the Grocery Manufacturers Association, reports to the PIJAC board, and will provide leadership in the development of long-term plans, the trade group said.
The presidential post is part of a new organizational structure and a key component of a four-year growth plan to ensure the Washington-based trade group's independence and continuity.
Under the restructuring, the position of president of the board, currently occupied by Elwyn Segrest of Segrest Farms, has been renamed chairman of the board, and Marshall Meyers, once e.v.p. and general counsel, is now c.e.o. and general counsel. Under his new title Meyers will continue to head PIJAC's government affairs activities.
Stegeman spent eight years with the GMA, where she created marketing, sponsorship, and government outreach systems. She previously held positions at Procter & Gamble, Colgate Palmolive, and Sprint.
"[Stegeman's] strong background in marketing and management includes vast experience with a wide variety of issues facing the nonprofit and profit arenas," noted Meyers, who is advising Stegeman on the ins and outs of her new role.
