PG Announces Free Economic Symposium in NYC
The Gourmet Retailer and Progressive Grocer magazines are co-hosting “After the Recession: Positioning for 2010” with FortyOne Madison in New York City on Friday, June 26.
James Russo, Vice President, Marketing, Nielsen, will lead attendees through what lies ahead with trends in future growth and economic insights. Russo recently addressed companies at The Nielsen Company’s Consumer 360 in Orlando, predicting that consumers may soon be spending more, albeit with some restraint.
Following Russo’s opening presentation, the symposium continues with an educational panel on Social Marketing with leading marketing experts and Web designers, including: Philip Ruskin, Ruskin International; Jed Royer, Royer Design; Darryl Lee Sang, Visual Vanguard; and John C. Havens, Director, Partnership Marketing & Integration, BlogTalkRadio.com.
It used to be that people got on Facebook to socialize, not hunt for products—or so the argument ran. No so anymore, more brands are finding consumer support through social networking. Still, this newly charted marketing territory has some pitfalls – hear from the experts on how to make it work for you with examples of successful campaigns and tools you can implement yourself.
The panel will be available for an afternoon roundtable to continue with an unscripted discussion of how business of all types can take advantage of this burgeoning technology and marketing platform.
After the Recession: Positioning for 2010 takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the 41 Madison merchandise building located on Madison Square Park.
