Pittsburgh Shop 'N Save Stores Honor Double Coupons Up to $.99
NEW STANTON, Pa. - Supervalu's Shop 'n Save retail customers in Pennsylvania and Ohio supplied from its distribution center here will honor manufacturer double coupons up to $.99 at all of stores throughout western Pennsylvania and Ohio.
The news comes in the wake of last week's pronouncement by Giant Eagle, the Pittsburgh market's dominant grocer, that it was cutting back on redeeming the value of double coupons in the Pittsburgh, New Castle, and Youngstown, Ohio markets in favor of promoting other incentives to attract consumers to its stores.
"We constantly seek ways to enhance the value to our customers," said Bill Lipsky, Supervalu/Pittsburgh division's director of merchandising. "We know there is a demand for this type of savings program, and while many of the Shop 'n Save stores have been honoring double coupons, it made sense that we institute the program in all of the stores to $.99."
In addition to the coupon program, Shop 'n Save is also reminding customers about its "Pump Perks" partnership with Sunoco, which provides fuel discounts based on qualifying purchases. Customers can realize savings on up to 30 gallons of gas and automatically have their discounts and fuel purchases tracked on a Pump Perks loyalty card. The Shop 'n Save stores offer Pump Perks fuel discounts, which can be redeemed at more than 100 participating Sunoco units and four Shop 'n Save Express Stations.
"In addition to these great savings programs, Shop 'n Save offers everyday low prices in-store and in weekly circulars, as well as unique in-store sales events held throughout the year," Lipsky said. "Our independent retailer group is committed to making their customers' shopping experience 'just right.'
There are more than 70 independently owned and operated Shop 'n Save
supermarkets in western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, and West Virginia.
