Price Chopper, EatingWell Media Group Team Up

Price Chopper Supermarkets said yesterday that under its established Healthy U umbrella, it has formed a partnership with EatingWell Media Group, an international, publication and e-network, to provide simple recipes that meet strict guidelines for taste and nutrition, report on the latest nutrition and health news, and help people to make better eating decisions.
"EatingWell Magazine is to food what Sports Illustrated is to sports, what Rolling Stone is to music and what Time Magazine is to current events," noted Price Chopper's v.p. of public relations and consumer services. Mona Golub. "EatingWell's irresistible recipes and reliable nutritional information are linked to a host of highly regarded sources for food and health information, including The FoodNetwork.com, MSN Lifestyles, HealthPartners, Yahoo! Food.com, Web MD and DiscoveryHealth. And now, Price Chopper is poised to share a dynamic cornucopia of recipes and food information by offering the fruits of EatingWell's labor to our customers."
The origins of the current partnership reach back nearly a year ago, when Price Chopper's senior corporate nutritionist, Ellie Wilson, contacted EatingWell and learned that the product used in the food photography and recipe development throughout the Media Group's Web site and publications came from a Price Chopper supermarket in EatingWell's hometown of Burlington, Vt.
Schenectady, N.Y.-based Price Chopper's Healthy U initiative provides up-to-date information on nutrition and diet, as well as a forum for customers to share comments on nutrition issues in stores, online, at community events, and by 800 number.
