Price Chopper E.V.P./C.O.O. Retires
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Larry Zettle, e.v.p. and c.o.o. at Price Chopper Supermarkets here, is retiring this month after 51 years in the grocery industry.
Zettle started his career in 1954 at National Tea Stores in Chicago. Later he held executive positions at Eberhards Foods in Grand Rapids, Mich.; A&P in Montvale, N.J.; Kohl's Foods in Milwaukee; and the Midwest Group, consisting of Kohl's and Farmer Jack, for A&P. Zettle came to Price Chopper in 1993 as e.v.p. and also became c.o.o. in 2000.
Said Price Chopper in a statement, "Zettle will long be remembered for his driving passion for sales, his inspired ability to engage store operators, and his award-winning private label prowess that extended from product development all the way through to package design."
Zettle intends to move back to his hometown of Milwaukee to be closer to his children and grandchildren, according to Price Chopper.
