Price Chopper, Market 32 Adopt Scan-Based Trading Solution
The Golub Corporation, operator of more than 130 Price Chopper and Market 32 grocery stores in New York, Pennsylvania and New England, has adopted a scan-based trading solution to support its new go-to-market strategy for Direct Store Delivery (DSD) vendors.
The solution from Park City Group is designed to provide greater efficiencies in DSD receiving, lower operating expenses, no-hassle payments and increased sales of 3 to 10 percent through greater visibility to product performance.
“DSD products are notoriously difficult to manage at the shelf,” said Blaine Bringhurst, SVP of Sales, Merchandising and Marketing at Price Chopper. The solution “will provide us with a progressive way to manage our DSD vendors while lowering our costs and inventory investment.”
Randall Fields, CEO of the cloud-based software company, said costs decrease when retailers and their DSD suppliers can see product movement and collaborate to drive efficiencies. “Over time, collaborators also see lower out of stocks, improve assortments, and provide fresher products for shoppers, which all but guarantee higher sales,” he added.
