Pricer Enables Shoppers to ‘Like’ Products in Store

Pricer, Inc., the Atlanta-based retail electronic shelf label provider, has launched a new solution that allows shoppers to scan QR codes with their smart phones to "like" and comment on products via their favorite social media networks.

Developed by PricerLab, Pricer’s research and development laboratory, this patent-pending technology was developed to enable physical stores to be just as interactive, accessible and transparent as an online store.

“The Internet, and the rise of online stores, has heavily influenced the expectations of consumers,” said Wyatt Alston, general manager, Pricer, Inc. “Customers now have immediate access to the online shopping reviews that they have come to rely on while in store. It also makes the shopping experience more entertaining as people can share their opinions and provide advice about their favorite products and brands.”

Retailers can utilize the QR code to provide shoppers with more information by redirecting them to online content such as a Facebook page, a brand’s website or a YouTube video. It can also be used to solicit immediate feedback when testing new products and concepts, and enhance customer loyalty by offering targeted benefits and discounts to shoppers who provide their opinion in store. Furthermore, brands can utilize product feedback to tailor their products and marketing strategy to meet consumer demand.

“We are now able to truly unite the retailer, brand and shopper,” said Alston. “Retailers and brands now have more insight as to what their customers like and how they feel about products, while customers have immediate access to additional product information at their fingertips.”
