PriceRite Moves Into Maryland

PriceRite’s first Maryland location is a recently opened 36,300-square-foot store in the Meadows Shopping Center, located by the intersection of Interstates 70 and 695 near Baltimore.

A wholly owned subsidiary of Keasbey, N.J.-based Wakefern Food Corp., a retail cooperative whose members operate more than 230 ShopRite-bannered stores, PriceRite is a chain of 47 limited-assortment supermarkets in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, California and Maryland.

“PriceRite is known for incredible everyday low prices on the all produce, meat, bakery, and grocery items that you need most, including national brands,” noted Bill Britton, director, real estate and human resources for Wethersfield, Conn.-based PriceRite. “By finding the best deals, limiting the number of items that we carry and driving costs out of our business, PriceRite can pass huge savings on to our valued customers."

“PriceRite offers new ways to save on supermarket items in their clean, fresh, and friendly stores, without compromising on quality,” noted David A. Ross, president of Vienna, Va.-based Atlantic Realty Cos. Inc., which owns and manages the Meadows Shopping Center, part of the 977,436-square-foot, 21-building Meadows Business Park consisting of office, flex/warehouse and retail space.
