Produce Vet Fabrizio Casini to Join Plum Market

Fabrizio Casini, former director of produce for Hiller’s Markets, will join Farmington Hills, Mich.-based Plum Market as senior produce specialist. With more than 45 years in the industry, Casini will be a valued addition to the Plum Market family, where he anticipates growing its organic program.

“Fabrizio brings a level of dedication to quality and guest service that we boast about at Plum Market,” said Phil Cassise, director of produce for Plum Market. “His years of service in the produce world will be an asset to us, and we are excited to have him join our produce team.”

Casini’s roots go back to Florence, Italy, where he began working for his father’s produce company when he was 10 years old. When he moved to Michigan in 1975, he quickly became a “local legend” for his hands-on approach and ability to source new and unusual items. Casini’s decades of experience with Hiller’s Markets has also won the devotion of many shoppers through the years.

Noted for its organic, local and specialty items, privately-owned Plum Market operates full-service grocery stores in Chicago and the Michigan communities of Bloomfield Township, Ann Arbor and West Bloomfield. It has new store openings planned for Ann Arbor-North Campus and inside Detroit Metropolitan Airport, in Fall 2015.
