Progresso Soups up Fiber
A line of high-fiber soups from Progresso, a division of Minneapolis-based General Mills, is slated to hit supermarkets this fall, in response to shoppers like the almost 80 million baby boomers who say they want to incorporate more fiber into their diets. “Increasingly, consumers are looking for foods with health-enhancing benefits that don’t sacrifice taste or convenience,” notes Chad Johnson, marketing manager for Progresso soup. “As the category leader, Progresso is in a position to respond quickly to consumer feedback by introducing healthy innovations that taste great.” The ready-to-serve line will consist of four varieties -- Chicken Tuscany, Creamy Tomato Basil, Hearty Vegetable and Noodles, and Homestyle Minestrone -- all with no added MSG, no artificial flavors and 7 grams of fiber per serving. A 19-ounce can will retail for $2.69. Learn more by contacting your General Mills sales representative.
