Publix to Deploy Audit Recovery Software
Publix Super Markets plans to deploy the APEX Analytix FirstStrike Retail software application to audit large volumes of data, prevent fraud and safeguard disbursements in high-transaction retail environments.
Publix will use the solution to audit hundreds of millions of warehouse and direct-to-store invoice records for pricing errors, store receiving errors and improper unfulfilled orders. Internal auditors will use the software to identify, write and administer claims and to generate detailed reports on transactions, claims and recovery status – all within the same application interface.
FirstStrike capitalizes on the experience APEX Analytix has gained working with many of the world’s largest retailers, enabling product developers to add specific features and functionality that benefit retail operations. The application works by consolidating transaction data from a retailer’s internal systems and analyzing it using proprietary algorithms. The system’s automated tools were developed to help internal audit teams find more recovery opportunities and reduce audit cycle time.
The APEX Analytix FirstStrike software is expected to go live in June.
Lakeland, Fla.-based Publix operates 1,053 stores in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee.
