Publix Holding Holiday Food Drive

Publix Super Markets Inc. is joining forces with area food banks and hunger relief organizations throughout the southeast to launch a holiday food drive running from Nov. 7 through Nov. 27.

“Making a donation to help feed those in need has never been easier,” noted Brenda Reid, media and community relations manager for Lakeland, Fla.-based Publix.

A “Food for Sharing” display will be located near the registers, and shoppers may choose their donation amount, based on recipes of the most needed items in the community. Donations will vary from $4.73 to $13.48. The amount for the recipe chosen will be scanned into the register as part of each customer’s grocery receipt. Donors will receive a Food for Sharing reusable bag.
