Publix, Wegman's, Ralph's, Hy-Vee Rank Highest in Pharmacy Satisfaction Survey
Four grocers received highest rankings for customer satisfaction for their supermarket pharmacies, according to a new survey from J.D. Powers and Associates.
Lakeland, Fla.-based Publix ranked highest in the South, while Ralph's, a division of Kroger based in Los Angeles, ranked highest in the West. West Des Moines, Iowa-based Hy-Vee ranked highest in the Midwest and Wegmans, in Rochester, N.Y., ranked highest in the Northeast.
Target ranked highest among mass-merchandisers. Publix, however, scored better overall than the other grocers as well as Target.
The study found pharmacy customers who participate in flat-rate generic prescription pricing programs have considerably higher levels of satisfaction, compared with customers who don't participate in these programs. Nearly one-fourth of pharmacy customers participate in a "$4 generic" or similar flat-rate prescription pricing program with the greatest participation rate among customers 44 years and older. The study measures customer satisfaction in two segments: brick and mortar, and mail order.
