Raley’s Hires VP of Pharmacy and Wellness
Regional independent grocer Raley’s has hired Lee Worthy as the company’s VP of pharmacy and wellness.
A licensed pharmacist, Worthy most recently led Safeway’s Seattle Division, now its Northwest Division -- covering pharmacies in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska. His focus on patient-centered service comes from his roots in retail grocery and drug, including time with Kroger, Treasury Drug and Southwest Drugs. A former pharmacy owner, Worthy is a strong advocate for providing wellness solutions beyond prescriptions that support customers in making healthy diet and lifestyle choices toward overall wellness.
“Pharmacy today is in a unique position to be at the forefront of patient care and total overall personal wellness,” said Worthy. “As healthcare moves into a new era, your neighborhood Raley’s pharmacy staff will be accessible and prepared to assist. At Raley’s we will continue to refine and sharpen our focus on the total health of our valued customers.”
Worthy began overseeing Raley’s 99 pharmacies May 31.
“Our pharmacists earn our customers’ trust with their expertise, reliability and personal customer service,” said Mike Teel, Raley’s president and CEO. “Because they know their customers, they can answer questions and share simple health and wellness guidance. With his experience and passion, Lee Worthy will continue to build on how we support our customers in leading healthier, happier lives.”
West Sacramento, Calif.-based Raley's operates 119 stores in Northern California and Nevada under four banners: Raley’s Supermarkets, Bel Air Markets, Nob Hill Foods and Food Source.
