Roche Bros. to Deploy Price Management Software Chain-Wide

Roche Bros. Supermarkets, Inc., an 18-store regional grocer based in Wellesley Hills, Mass., has plans to replace its legacy pricing and store back-office systems with a centralized, rules-based pricing and inventory management solution.

The grocer will use Dallas-based Retalix’s HQ/Store solution, which is designed to help grocers control authorized items, costs and prices, and to standardize a company's pricing best-practice disciplines for consistent execution of its price strategy.

"When we decided to improve our pricing execution and adopt a rules-based pricing system, we wanted a retail technology partner that truly understands our business," said Edward Roche, chairman and president of Roche Bros. "Retalix has proven, widely used expertise in price management within the grocery industry, and can help us build a foundation for the future."

The integrated solution suite also includes Retalix Store for operational in-store functions such as DSD receiving, pricing, inventory, POS sales and movement data, signs and labels, simple ordering and other store-level tasks. Roche Bros. will use additional Retalix HQ modules, including Category Analyzer for item/profit movement analysis and Bill Back Manager for capturing earned promotional dollars from suppliers.

The implementation is expected to be fully rolled out this year.

Roche Bros. operates 18 grocery stores under the Roche Bros. and Sudbury Farms banners in eastern Massachusetts, as well as an online shopping and home delivery service.
