Roundy's Bows New Copps in Manitowoc, Wis.
Roundy's Supermarkets, Inc. this week bowed its newest and most complete supermarket in Manitowoc, Wis. via a 60,000-plus square-foot Copps store at 3300 Calumet Ave., which replaces the former store location at 3415 Custer St. The new state-of-the-art store features more choices across all departments and energy efficient lighting, according to Vivian King, director of public affairs at Roundy's, who presided at the ribbon-cutting festivities, along with store and local officials.
The grand opening party at the new Copps store had a "Summer Fun in the Sun" theme and included food sampling, face painting, a chance to win prizes and music by the Roncalli High School Jazz Choir and Dante's Bop Band. It also gave Manitowoc leaders and area residents a chance to see all that the new store has to offer: a sushi bar, fresh sandwiches, salad and olive bars, an expanded fresh produce department, a bulk foods department, a new from-scratch bakery, an outdoor grilling area with seating, a drive-through pharmacy, a wine and spirits department, and full-service meat, seafood, deli and floral departments.
During the grand opening ceremonies, King and store director Lane Landon presented $2,500 to the Manitowoc County Domestic Violence Center. "Fighting domestic violence is a key concern at Roundy's, and we are proud to support the Manitowoc County Domestic Violence Center," said Robert Mariano, Roundy's chairman/c.e.o.

The celebration featured a healthy cooking demonstration conducted by The Fondy Food Center, one of the organizations receiving a grant.

Kim is the host of The Fondy Food Center's "Taste of the Season" television show, which airs on MATA Community Media. The goal of the show and the center is to provide low-income families living on Milwaukee's near north side with ideas for healthy and affordable meals.
