Roundy's to Carry Moo & Oink
Select Pick ‘n Save stores in Wisconsin and Rainbow locations in Minnesota will carry Moo & Oink-branded meat products after the iconic, Chicago-based barbecue brand inked a deal with the banners' parent company, Milwaukee-based Roundy's.
Moo & Oink is known for its Chicago-style full and meaty rib tips, hot links, sausages, breakfast links and patties, chicken nuggets, High-Five BBQ sauce and BBQ sprinkles.
“We are so excited to introduce Chicago’s legendary Moo & Oink products to Wisconsin and Minnesota customers,” said David L. Van Kampen, chief herding officer of Moo & Oink LLC. “We know Moo & Oink will quickly become as much a favorite for Roundy’s customers as it has been among Chicagoans for more than 40 years.”
Following the 2011 bankruptcy and closure of the Moo & Oink grocery stores, Best Chicago Meat Co. and Dutch Farms purchased the Moo & Oink brand and brought the most popular items to grocery stores across the Chicago area. Moo & Oink continues to grow with the development of new products and a regional expansion of product distribution.
In addition, an e-commerce website was launched in 2013 to meet out-of-town consumer demand. The site offers select Moo & Oink products shipped in dry ice anywhere in the United States.
Roundy’s stores will feature Moo & Oink's hot and mild links in beef, pork and turkey varieties, along with its beef breakfast sausage patties.
The Moo & Oink brand is owned and operated solely in Chicago and has been a staple in the Chicago community for more than 40 years. Products are now available in 300 stores in five states – Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota.
Roundy's operates 161 retail grocery stores and 100 pharmacies under the Pick 'n Save, Rainbow, Copps, Metro Market and Mariano's retail banners in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois.
