Roundy’s Has ‘Monopoly’ on Prize Winners

Shoppers at Milwaukee-based Roundy’s Supermarkets stores in the Milwaukee and Minneapolis areas are raking in cash as part of the retailer’s Monopoly Collect & Win game.

Since the game was launched in mid-June, one shopper has won $50,000 for the purchase of a new car, another won a $10,000 dream vacation and more than 50 others have won prizes of at least $250. In all, 2,170 shoppers at Roundy’s stores – Pick ‘n Save, Copps, Rainbow Foods, Metro Market and Mariano’s Fresh Market – have won more than more than 34,000 prizes totaling $2.8 million. Prizes include cash, grocery gift cards, iPods and Carnival cruises.

The Monopoly Collect & Win game will continue through Aug. 31, or while supplies last. Thousands of prizes are still up for grabs, including four vacations, four cars, five cruises and a $250,000 dream home.

Roundy’s Supermarkets Inc. has nearly $4 billion in sales and more than 17,000 employees. Founded in Milwaukee in 1872, it operates 156 retail grocery stores and 93 pharmacies under the Pick ’n Save, Copps, Rainbow, Metro Market and Mariano’s Fresh Market banners in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois.
