Russ’s to Hold 6th Annual Food & Wine Festival
B&R Stores’ Russ’s Market banner is holding its sixth annual Lincoln Wine and Food Experience to offer wine connoisseurs and novices alike the opportunity to sample new flavors. The event is the largest annual fundraiser for the Lincoln Community Playhouse and will be held at the Embassy Suites Friday, Feb. 28 from 5 to 8 p.m.
“Russ’s Market turns 50 in 2014, and The Lincoln Wine and Food Experience is an important way for us to celebrate with our Russ’s community,” said Pat Raybould, president of B&R Stores, Inc. “We all have a great time supporting the entertainment and education programs of the Lincoln Community Playhouse.”
The Lincoln Wine and Food Experience main ballroom will feature approximately 80 booths, offering wines from around the world, as well as samples of fine cheeses, Nebraska beef, gourmet desserts and other unique items. A variety of Russ’s Market Stone Hearth breads will be baked fresh at the event. Additionally, reserve room guests will enjoy an exclusive selection of reserve wines and a buffet prepared by Russ’s Market Catering to You.
The Lincoln Wine and Food Experience has raised nearly $170,000 for the Lincoln Community Playhouse over the past five years; this year’s goal is $35,000. General admission tickets for the main ballroom are $40 in advance, $50 at the door. Tickets for the reserve room are $60 in advance, $70 at the door. Tickets are on sale at Russ’s Market locations in Lincoln and at the Playhouse box office.
