Shop 'n Save/Pittsburgh to Highlight 'Take A Peak' Program
PITTSBURGH -- Beginning this weekend, Shop 'n Save stores here will roll out brochures, signs, and displays to help guide shoppers toward making wiser food choices, as part of an industry-sponsored effort called "Take A Peak."
Under the auspices of the Grocery Manufacturers Association/Food Products Association, the Food Marketing Institute and MatchPoint Marketing, the consumer-friendly retailer program is based on the U.S. Department of Agriculture's MyPyramid dietary guidelines.
As part of the program, Shop 'n Save customers will be able to easily access tips and coupons for recommended foods, as well as pick up informational brochures and coupons in the stores.
All 71 Shop 'n Save stores in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland and West Virginia will be a part of the program and are among the first in the industry to do so.
In addition, the company's Web site, www.shopnsavefood.com, features a link to the USDA Web site.
