Spartan Launches ‘Yes is More’
More than $8 million in free groceries, fuel and prescriptions have been awarded to consumers since Spartan Stores introduced its Yes Rewards program at Family Fare, Glen’s Markets and VG’s Food Centers throughout Michigan.
To build on this success, these supermarkets will place even more focus on lowering prices. The Yes is More campaign will freeze prices for 90 days on more than 300 items that consumers buy most, such as milk, bread, chicken, lettuce, sugar and eggs; give 50 points for every $50 in groceries purchased; and offer bonus points on more than 3,000 items every day.
“Today’s price-conscious consumer is searching for ways to make their hard-earned dollars go further. ‘Yes is More’ is part of our commitment to providing the best grocery shopping value,” said Alan Hartline, Spartan Stores EVP of merchandising and marketing. “The introduction of a price freeze on the items consumers need and buy most often will provide additional savings and rewards. Knowing that prices on key household items have been frozen for the next 90 days gives consumers something to count on and can plan their grocery purchases with assurance of the same low price.”
In addition, consumers can earn 25 points by purchasing $4 and $10 generic medications, and a per-gallon discount on gasoline after spending $50 on groceries.
“Yes” offers are also available on the stores’ websites, mobile apps, e-mail offers, weekly flyers and store advertising.
Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Spartan Stores Inc. distributes more than 40,000 corporate and national brand products to 375 independent grocery stores in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, and to 96 corporate owned stores located in Michigan, including Family Fare Supermarkets, Glen’s Markets, D&W Fresh Markets and VG’s Food and Pharmacy.
