Stater Bros. Donates $22K to Marines Reserve Toys for Tots
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - Regional independent Stater Bros. Markets last week donated $21,750 to the United States Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program to help children in need, making the retailer the largest cash donor to the program for the third straight year.
"Stater Bros. believes in giving back to the communities we serve," said Jack H. Brown, chairman and c.e.o. of Stater Bros. "We are very proud to help make the Christmas wishes of so many children come true this year."
The local Marines, representing the Delta Company, 4th Tank Battalion, 4th Marine Division, will use the donation to purchase thousands of toys, which will be distributed to community-based organizations in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties and given to local children and families who are in need of a helping hand this holiday season.
Stater Bros. and the manufacturers of its store brand products contributed a portion of all private label sales during October to the program.
Stater Bros. operates 164 Supermarkets, and employs 18,000 associates.
