Stop & Shop Recalls Ground Meatloaf Mix
QUINCY, Mass. -- The Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. is recalling Stop & Shop Ground Meatloaf Mix with use-by/freeze-by dates Oct. 31, and Nov. 2, 2007, from its stores in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut west of Route I-91.
The recall is part of the larger nationwide recall by Wichita, Kan.-based Cargill Meat Solutions, a supplier of Stop & Shop Ground Meatloaf Mix. Cargill has issued a Class I recall for ground meatloaf mix because it may be contaminated with E. coli. Stop & Shop, one of several retailers affected by the Cargill recall, had previously removed all affected products from its stores.
Stop & Shop employs over 59,000 associates and operates 389 stores in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, and New Jersey.
