Stop & Shop/Giant Names New Pharmacy Execs
Stop & Shop/Giant Food has promoted Jim Wonderly to v.p. of pharmacy and Joel Berman to v.p. of pharmacy operations.
Wonderly succeeds former pharmacy v.p. John Fegan, who has left the company to pursue other interests. In his new role Wonderly will be responsible for Stop & Shop and Giant-Landover's pharmacy business. He first joined Ahold USA in 1992, when Ahold acquired Tops, where he held the position of director of general merchandise/health and beauty care. In 1994 he became one of the founders of Ahold's ASC (American Sales Co.) and served as v.p. of general merchandise/health and beauty care/pharmacy procurement. In 2006 Wonderly became v.p. of GM/HBC for Stop & Shop and ASC.
Berman will now be responsible for pharmacy operations at both Stop & Shop and Giant Food, reporting to Wonderly. An 18-year veteran of Stop & Shop, he started out as a pharmacist in the banner's Weymouth, Mass. store, and subsequently served as regional pharmacy manager and senior director of pharmacy operations.
