United Supermarkets to Fight Breast Cancer with New Promo

United Supermarkets, Market Street and Amigos United locations – and their grocery partners – are again joining the fight against breast cancer during the grocer’s annual “Who Do You Pink For?” promotion.

Now through Nov. 1, shoppers can help raise money for breast cancer research and awareness by purchasing specially marked products throughout the store, for which grocery partners have agreed to donate a percentage of the sales to support the cause. Products will be marked throughout the store by special shelf talkers and product stickers.

In addition, all stores will be selling pink reusable bags for 99 cents each, with 25 cents from each sale also going to the cause.

“We are once again helping bring awareness to the ongoing battle against breast cancer, and many of our partners have joined us in this effort,” said Wes Jackson, CMO of United Supermarkets, LLC.

Also during the month, shoppers will have the opportunity to indicate who they “pink for” by signing a poster in-store. In addition, they can share their breast cancer story or become a fan on either of the company’s Facebook pages (www.facebook.com/unitedwesttexas or http://www.facebook.com/MarketStreetDFW). United Supermarkets will make a $5 donation for each story (up to $10,000) toward breast cancer research/awareness.

Lubbock, Texas-based United Supermarkets, LLC, is a Texas-based, family-owned grocery chain that operates 51 stores under four distinct formats: United Supermarkets, Market Street, Amigos United and United Express.
