United Supermarkets Picks Up Topco Private Labels
LUBBOCK, Texas -- United Supermarkets here is the latest retailer to join forces with Skokie, Ill.-based Topco Associates LLC to introduce new private label lines in its stores.
United's affiliation with Topco gives it access to the Food Club label, the central Topco brand for more than 60 years. Food Club is replacing HyTop as the United's primary store brand for most grocery items.
"Being a Topco partner provides increased selection and a better value to our guests," said Dan Sanders, United Supermarkets c.e.o., in a statement. "Since store brands account for a large percentage of our sales volume, it is very important for our company to have a solid complement of store brand offerings."
Thanks to the Topco partnership, almost 3,000 new products will be available, Sanders said. In all, seven new labels can found on the shelves of United Supermarkets, Market Street and Amigos United stores: Food Club, Supreme Clean, Top Care, Valu Time, Paws pet food, Full Circle, and World Classics Trading Company.
