Wal-Mart Expanding Sam's Club Across Canada
TORONTO - Wal-Mart Canada unveiled the first four Sam's Club warehouse stores in Canada on Wednesday and said it plans on making the division a national chain, according to Reuters.
Wal-Mart Canada, a unit of Wal-Mart Stores Inc., said Sam's Club will focus on small businesses, just as it does in the U.S.
The first four Sam's Clubs are in the Toronto area, and there are plans for two more sites in southern Ontario by early 2004.
"There are opportunities for this channel across the country, so we are out looking for sites and we're going to have more stores," said Mario Pilozzi, c.e.o. of Wal-Mart Canada.
