Wal-Mart Finance Exec Promoted to EVP, Finance and Treasury
BENTONVILLE, Ark. -- Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. on Friday promoted its s.v.p. of finance, Charles Holley, to e.v.p., finance and treasurer. Holley will take over treasury responsibilities from Jay Fitzsimmons, the retailer's current s.v.p., treasurer, who will retire Jan. 31.
Holley, who reports to Tom Schoewe, e.v.p. and c.f.o., will continue to oversee finance, tax, and investor relations.
In addition, Steve Whaley has been promoted from v.p., controller to s.v.p., controller, and will serve as principal accounting officer, reporting to Schoewe.
Holley joined Wal-Mart from the Tandy Corp. in 1994 and served as s.v.p. and c.f.o. of Wal-Mart's International Division. He was promoted to s.v.p., controller of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. in 2003, and was named s.v.p., finance in December 2005.
