Walmart Promotes 3 in Tech Group
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has promoted three officers within its U.S. technology and global platforms organization, according to CTO Jeremy King.
Fiona Tan is now SVP leading the U.S. customer tchnology organization, continuing to report directly to King. Earlier, she led the Sam’s Club and international ecommerce technology teams, guiding strategy, planning and operations for @WalmartLabs. In her new, expanded role, Tan will "bring a whole new level of focus to the customer journey – both in stores and online," according to King.
Jaya Kolhatkar is now SVP leading the global data and analytics platform organization, and will also continue to report directly to King. Since coming to Bentonville, Ark.-based Walmart at the time of the Inkiru acquisition in 2013, Kolhatkar has headed the data and analytics teams for the ecommerce side of the business. Starting in January, she has also taken on responsibility for the company's in-store data. "She exemplifies respect for the individual and spends countless hours mentoring technologists internally and externally," noted King.
Jae Evans is now VP leading the global technical engineering and operations organization, reporting to SVP of Global Infrastructure and Operations Paul Antony. In her new position, Evans will continue to oversee the core infrastructure services and customer reliability operations of Walmart's worldwide ecommerce sites, in addition to taking on responsbility for infrastructure engineering across stores, distribution centers, clubs and the home office. Observed King, "Jae is a technologist through and through – seeing her in the Network Operations Center (NOC) during holiday peak is when you clearly see her passion for a seamless customer experience."
He added: "What’s most exciting about these promotions is the added benefit it brings our customers. These roles span across the customer experience – from learning more about them, to taking them on a seamless in-store and online journey, to protecting them, and making sure we are always available to serve them."
