Weis Markets Names New Marketing, HBC/GM Directors


Two more new executives have come aboard the Weis Markets team. Brian Holt has joined the Sunbury, Pa.-based grocery chain as its new director of marketing, while Steve Davis has joined the company as director of GM/HBC sales and merchandising.

In his new post, Holt will oversee all aspects of the company’s marketing programs, including loyalty marketing. Holt previously worked for Black and Decker Hardware and Home Improvement/Baldwin Hardware, where he was responsible for the leadership of a $25 million business portfolio and a retail marketing team. During his career, Holt has worked on brand and product development for Graco Children’s Products, Dorman, Baldwin Hardware and Masco.

Davis, meanwhile, has extensive experience in sales, merchandising and store operations. As director of GM/HBC sales and merchandising, he will oversee the procurement and merchandising of the company’s GM and HBC categories. During his 30-year career, Davis has worked in merchandising and operations positions at Jewel/Osco, First National Supermarkets, Tops, Giant Food Stores, Wild Oats and Pharmica.

Weis Markets, which this month marks its 97th year of operation, operates 154 stores in five states.
