Weis Taps Sheetz as Gas Rewards Redemption Partner in State College, Pa.
Weis Markets has enlisted another Central Pennsylvania-based retailer -- Sheetz, Inc. -- to help make it easy for Weis Preferred Shopper Club members in the State College, Pa., market to redeem Gas Reward points for discounts on gas purchases.
The new partnership between 154-store Weis Markets and Altoona, Pa.-based Sheetz Inc., paves the way for Weis customers in State College, Bellefonte and Phillipsburg, Pa., to earn Gas Reward points on their grocery purchases with a swipe of their Preferred Shoppers Card.
“Our expanded gas rewards program offers the best of both worlds,” said Dennis Curtin, Weis Markets’ spokesman. “It allows our State College-area Weis Club members to redeem their Gas Rewards discounts at Sheetz locations throughout the region.”
Describing the new program as “an outstanding value for our Weis Club customers,” Curtin said Sunbury, Pa.-based Weis is especially “pleased to be working with Sheetz -- another great Pennsylvania company.”
With a $50 purchase during a Gas Rewards promotional period, Weis Club customers can earn a 10-cent-per-gallon discount when purchasing up to 20 gallons of gas. If a Weis Club customer spends $100 during one transaction, the customer qualifies for a 20-cent-per-gallon discount, while a $200 purchase earns a 40-cent per gallon discount. Curtin said there is no discount limit, and the offer is good on a per-transaction basis and doesn’t aggregate.
The Weis Gas Rewards discount will continue to be available at all locally owned Weis Gas stations. In addition to the State College area, the Weis-Sheetz Gas Rewards program is also available in Weis Markets’ hometown of Sunbury, as well as in Selinsgrove, Lewisburg, Mifflinburg and Milton, Pa.
Curtain said the latest move made by Weis fits in with its increasingly aggressive stance to seek out “creative ways to add everyday value to the Weis Markets shopping experience. Earlier this month, we introduced a new edition of our Price Freeze program, and we recently expanded our 90-day, $9.99 generic prescription program to 400 drugs and antibiotics.”
Weis Markets operates 154 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and West Virginia.
