Who Needs a Drone When You Have a Cow?

This month is National Pizza Month -- who knew? But this year, instead of the Smoky Mountain Pizzeria Grill posting a sign commemorating the event, or even offering a money-saving special on deliveries, it joined forces with the United Dairymen of Idaho and Lola the cow.

These folks know their marketing!

Smoky Mountain has eight locations in Idaho and one in Utah, and all of them exclusively use Idaho cheese in the three-cheese blend that tops their pizzas. They're committed to their fellow Idaho businesses.

So, they all put their heads together and decided to surprise unsuspecting Eagle, Idaho, residents who ordered pizzas for home delivery. When the customers opened their front doors, they found Idaho dairy farmers and their halter-led heifers outside. Mooooove over Domino’s, Papa John’s and Pizza Hut.

Pizza has a huge impact on the Idaho economy, since Idaho is the third-largest dairy-producing state in the United States.. Dairy products are Idaho's leading agricultural commodity, and one in eight Americans eats pizza on any given day.

Let’s see how California and Wisconsin can top this for next year’s National Pizza Month.
