Whole Foods Bows New Program to Give and Receive Cooking Tips
AUSTIN, Texas -- Whole Foods here introduced an online program this week offering cooking tips to consumers, and soliciting the same from its online audience.
"We love to cook and are always trying new techniques and ideas to make our time in the kitchen a little smoother," the chain said in its Fl@vors e-newsletter. "We think you probably do too. That's why we are launching a new once-a-month Kitchen Tips feature -- simple ideas designed to save time, money or ease of preparation. And, we want you to share with us."
The inaugural tips involve melting chocolate. "Chocolate's melting point is very close to human body temperature and it will burn if exposed to high heat," Whole Foods explained. "However you melt, use gentle heat (115°F or less)." It also offered instructions on how to melt chocolate using either a double boiler or a microwave oven.
"Got an original kitchen tip that makes your time in the kitchen easier? Send it to us," Whole Foods added. "If we select your tip and publish it in our fl@vors newsletter, we'll mail you a $25 Whole Foods Market gift card."
