Whole Foods Co-Sponsoring Lunch Program in South L.A.
Whole Foods Market is joining Brown Bag Naturals in sponsoring a school lunch program at College Ready Academy High School No. 7, a Los Angeles Alliance Public Charter School. Whole Foods' co-sponsor, Brown Bag Naturals, is a Los Angeles-based company that promotes nutrition and helps fight obesity in school-age children.
The all-natural lunches are made fresh each morning and delivered directly to schools across Southern California, the chain said. Lunch menus are reviewed by nutritionists to ensure each meal has quality protein, whole grain, and seasonal fruit and vegetables.
Austin, Texas-based Whole Foods Market is one of several "Pantry Partners" helping to support delivery of the lunches to public charter schools in Los Angeles.
