Whole Foods to Feature Exclusive Gluten-free SKUs
Next month, two new gluten-free SKUs are set to debut exclusively in Whole Foods Market stores nationwide. Gluten-Free Duo Cheese Pizza Multi Packs from the Glutino Group will feature three pizzas per box, while Ian’s Wheat-Free, Gluten-Free Chicken Nuggets and Wheat-Free, Gluten-Free Alphatots will be available to the Austin, Texas-based grocer’s shoppers in family-size packs.
Additionally, Ian’s will roll its new Wheat-Free, Gluten-Free Chicken Tenders at Whole Foods and other stores in August.
Made with a brown rice crust and topped with a blend of grated mozzarella and Monterey jack cheese, Glutino Duo Cheese Pizza can be prepared in the oven or microwave. The product a good source of Vitamin A and and an excellent source of calcium, according to Laval, Quebec-based Glutino.
“We’re always looking for new ways to provide gluten-free solutions to consumers,” said Laura Kuykendall, director of marketing and R&D for the company. “Pizza is a popular favorite, and the new Multi Packs make it easier for people to always have a great-tasting, gluten-free option available to them.”
Ian’s Wheat-Free, Gluten-Free Chicken Nuggets are made with antibiotic and hormone-free, all white meat chicken breast and coated with a crunchy corn breading, and the Lawrence, Mass.-based manufacturer’s Alphatots are alphabet-shaped potato fries that can serve as either a side dish or snack. Both products are free of wheat, gluten, milk, casein, eggs, nuts and soy.
“Ian’s offers great-tasting meal solutions for families and kids with food allergies and intolerances,” noted Ian’s brand manager Dena Zigun. “Our new family packs now make it easier for the entire family to enjoy two of Ian’s most popular offerings.”
Free of wheat, gluten, milk, casein, eggs, nuts and soy, Ian’s Chicken Tenders are made with whole-muscle all-white meat chicken breast and coated with the same crunchy corn breading as the company’s gluten-free chicken and fish items.
All of Ian’s products contain no hydrogenated oils, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.
