Whole Foods Market Launches Cookbook
AUSTIN, Texas - Leading natural and organic foods retailer Whole Foods Market has released a new cookbook with an emphasis on cooking naturally with fresh ingredients. "The Whole Foods Market Cookbook: A Guide to Natural Foods with 350 Recipes" was written by Chef Steve Petusevsky and Whole Foods Market team members from throughout the country.
The book retails for $19.99 and is being sold at Whole Foods Market stores. It includes information about natural foods with a comprehensive glossary, healthful cooking advice, menu planning tips, recipes for children, and wine and cheese recommendations. More than 200 recipes are vegetarian or vegan, but the book also offers a vast selection of recipes featuring fish, seafood, poultry and meat.
The company's first cookbook includes 350 recipes with flavors and ingredients from around the globe. While some were created specifically for The Whole Foods Market Cookbook, other recipes were drawn from the best-selling ranks of prepared foods from the company's own kitchens, where some are still prepared daily and customers have been requesting the recipes for years. Still other original recipes came from the company's team members, who contributed family favorites from their own kitchens at home.
"This cookbook, with its hundreds of recipes and useful tips from our team members, is our attempt at capturing a bit of the essence of what the Whole Foods Market experience is all about," said Whole Foods Market CEO and cofounder John Mackey.
