Winn-Dixie Adds 4 VPs to HQ Team
Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. late Friday said it added four execs to its headquarters staff to oversee pricing, private label, center store, and compensation and benefits.
The chain said Chris Vukich has come on board as the v.p. of pricing, responsible for developing and managing pricing strategies for the grocer. Prior to joining Winn-Dixie, Vukich held key positions at Dell Computer and Wal-Mart International, where most recently he managed merchandising strategies, business process mapping and inventory, and pricing analysis.
Joe McKie, Winn-Dixie’s new v.p. of corporate brands, is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's corporate brands initiative, including the redesign and relaunch of its private label products.
McKie has held positions at several high-profile companies including Federated Group and store brand specialist firm Daymon Worldwide, where he filled executive roles in sales, operations, marketing, procurement, and category management. Most recently, McKie was president and c.e.o. of Kreative Brand Solutions, LLC.
The grocer said Matt Gutermuth has joined as v.p. of center store, responsible for overseeing its center store buying and merchandising departments. Gutermuth's career includes stops at global CPG firms such as Kraft Foods, Nabisco, and PepsiCo. He also held several executive roles at Safeway, Inc.; and most recently was the president and c.e.o. of safeway.com, a position that included leadership in marketing, sales, IT, operations, finance, strategic development, supply chain, and human resources, Winn-Dixie said.
Mark Tanis, Winn-Dixie's newly named v.p. of compensation and benefits, is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, communication, and delivery of the company’s compensation and benefits programs for its 52,000 associates. Tanis' career includes time at companies such as Watson Wyatt Worldwide and Hewitt Associates, the chain said.
Winn-Dixie Stores, based in Jacksonville, Fla., operates 520 supermarkets, including more than 400 in-store pharmacies, in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, and Mississippi.
