Ahold Still to Sell U.S. Foodservice Despite Setback: Report
AMSTERDAM -- Dutch retail conglomerate Royal Ahold said yesterday that it would still sell its Columbia, Md.-based U.S. Foodservice holding, although the American company had to cancel the sale of bonds that would have helped fund the transaction, according to published reports. -
Whole Foods Would Sell Henry's and Sun Harvest Stores, Depot to Smart & Final
AUSTIN, Texas -- Whole Foods Market Inc. here said it plans to sell all 35 of Wild Oats' Henry's and Sun Harvest stores, along with a Riverside, Calif. distribution center, to Los Angeles-based Smart & Final Inc.-if and when it gets control of the stores as a result of its planned $565 million purchase of Wild Oats, currently blocked by a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.
