    BATAVIA, Ill. -- Limited-assortment retailer Aldi here, which has so far kept a low profile in New England with a handful of stores, now has plans to construct a 500,000-square-foot distribution center in South Windsor, Conn. to supply a projected 70 stores, 50 in Connecticut, and 20 in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, according to a local press report.
