BRIDGEPORT, N.J. -- Albert's Organics here has named Scott Tenner to the position of sales manager for Albert's Western division, which is located in Vernon, Calif.

McLEAN, Va. -- The National Fisheries Institute (NFI) here commended congressional conferees for including $118 million in emergency appropriations for recovery and rebuilding efforts in H.R. 4939, the Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act. This funding is a result of the federal Fisheries Declaration of Disaster after Hurricane Katrina in October 2005.

DAYVILLE, Conn. -- Reflecting the rising fortunes of natural and organic foods in the American marketplace, distributor United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) here yesterday posted double-digit gains in sales and earnings for the third quarter of fiscal 2006.

BRIDGEPORT, N.J. -- Albert's Organics, based here, said yesterday that it will open its seventh regional distribution center, to be known as its Midwest Division, in Greenwood, Ind. The DC will begin shipping May 19.

DAYVILLE, Conn. -- The nutritional correction continues to treat United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) very well. Citing strong growth across all major channels, the wholesale distributor, based here, yesterday reported revenues for the second quarter of $601.1 million, an increase of $96.4 million, or 19 percent, from the $504.7 million recorded in the year-ago period.

DAYVILLE, Conn. -- United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) here has named Randle E. Lindberg, formerly the president and c.e.o. of Brea, Calif.-based health and natural products wholesaler and distributor Nature's Best, president of its western region, effective Jan. 30.
