Wegmans Food Markets

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Exactly eight months after the Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. store on Dick Road in Buffalo, N.Y. was razed, the Northeast retailer's newest location in the area is set open on April 2. The replacement store measures 100,000 square feet and will employ 340 associates.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Wegmans Food Markets Inc. will be opening three supermarkets in the greater Philadelphia area, according to a local published report. The Northeast upscale retailer's Mount Laurel, N.J. store opened yesterday, while its Cherry Hill, N.J. location will debut in June and a Warrington, Pa. market will bow in December. Wegmans' earlier Philadelphia-area store, in Downington, Pa., opened in 2003.

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. -- Associated Food Stores, Associated Wholesale Grocers, Supervalu, Unified Western Grocers, Wal-Mart, and Wegmans Food Markets combined their voices in a chorus to urge suppliers to adopt a number of strategic activities to expand data synchronization.
